Hailing from the frigid tundra of Northern Minnesota, Korly DeVries began her creative career sketching ads on perforated ’80s computer paper for her dad’s company. She later earned her BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin–Stout and expanded her craft through letterpress and bookbinding work at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts.
Korly spent more than a decade working at branding and packaging agencies in Minneapolis before bringing her Midwestern work ethic to New York City in 2012. Earlier in her career, she worked on branding and packaging for nationally recognized consumer brands including Wrigley’s 5 Gum, First Aid Beauty, Gerber, and Hershey’s—developing visual systems designed to translate seamlessly from shelf to in-store and digital experiences. Her background now spans branding, packaging, environmental graphics, retail experiences, campaigns, and large-scale public-facing design systems across cultural institutions, nonprofits, startups, and consumer brands.
She is currently the Communications Design Manager and Creative Lead at the High Line in New York City, where she leads creative across campaigns, public art initiatives, retail, horticultural festivals, environmental graphics, signage systems, and digital platforms. Her work focuses on translating brand identity into cohesive experiences across physical and digital touchpoints for millions of annual visitors.
Outside of design, Korly enjoys travel adventures, camping, book hoarding, the New York Times crossword, and asking the ever-important question: “Will there be food?”
